Features
- Wind speed in km/h
- Brightness sensor on a 0 – 100% scale, measuring range up to 100 kLux (1% ≈ 1 kLux)
- The light sensor sits behind an infrared filter and is optimized for controlling shades and blinds based on solar gains. Not suitable as a twilight sensor — use a dedicated light sensor to detect dusk or sunset.
- Outdoor temperature. Not suitable for equithermal control, as the temperature is only valid when no direct sunlight is shining on the sensor.
- Connects to the TapHome bus
Wind measurement and placement
The sensor is a safety trigger for blinds, not a weather station. Typical accuracy is ±10 – 20% and depends heavily on placement — two installations of the same sensor can report significantly different values in the same wind. Mechanical resilience is 150 km/h; above 120 km/h the reported values are only indicative, which does not matter in practice — thresholds in the Wind Blind Protection smart rule are typically 50 – 80 km/h.
Mount the sensor in an open, exposed location, away from corners and obstacles:
- Recommended: two sensors on opposite corners of the building (e.g. SW and NE) — more accurate coverage for different façade exposures; the Wind Blind Protection smart rule takes the maximum of both values.
- Alternative: a single sensor on an exposed corner of the building — sufficient for smaller installations or blinds on a single side.
